Growing a Greener Tomorrow - Kim R

This April, the Subaru Loves the Earth initiative was about more than just distribution. It was about education and community. In partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation, Fred Anderson Subaru hosted a giveaway that put over 100 native saplings into the hands of our neighbors. To ensure these trees truly thrived, we were joined by local Greenworks TreeKeeper Patrick George. Patrick spent the day consulting with guests, helping them match the right species to their specific yard and sunlight and soil needs. His expertise gave both the trees and their new stewards the best possible start. Perhaps the most rewarding part of the day was catching up with familiar faces from last year. We loved hearing "status reports" from neighbors who planted trees during our previous event, sharing stories of how much their saplings have grown and how well they are thriving this spring. "Hearing that last year's trees are already flourishing across Asheville makes this all worth it. It's not just a giveaway; it's a growing legacy that we get to check in on year after year." - Kim Richardson, Fred Anderson Subaru Community Outreach Manager The day felt like a true celebration, complete with local flavor from the Maiz y Amor food truck and adorable "sapling" cupcakes for snacks. We can't wait to do it again next year! A huge thank you to Patrick and everyone who took home a piece of Asheville's future! Soup, Smiles, and Support at The Mule - Kim R

There's nothing quite like a warm bowl of soup to bring a community together, and the 2nd Annual Souper Duper at The Mule did exactly that. This year's contest was a whirlwind of live music, friendly competition, and incredible flavors—all focused on supporting the vital work of Lamplight AVL and 12 Baskets Cafe. As fans tasted their way through Asheville's best soups, Fred Anderson Subaru was there to make sure the day was unforgettable. We sponsored the event photobooth, providing a space for neighbors to grab props, strike a pose, and take home a physical memory of the fun. "Fred Anderson Subaru's continued support of The Souper Duper is paramount for creating an event that is truly for the community by the community. It is a true joy to have their team there serving up smiles and representing the heart of Asheville!" - Miranda Michaels, Director of Operations at The Mule We love being part of events that celebrate Asheville's unique spirit. Thank you to everyone who came out, donated to the food drive, and shared a ladle (and a photo) with us!

Warmth That Lasts Beyond the Season - Loretta S

January in the Blue Ridge Mountains is no joke. However, this year, winter's chill was met with an incredible wave of warmth from our friends at Fred Anderson Subaru. Their team, along with the ever-energetic Subie Roo, arrived in Subarus packed to the roof with boxes of brand-new Operation Warm coats. The coats came in a variety of colors and ranged from toddler sizes for our littles to adult sizes for our older youth. The coats were truly a blessing to the children and youth entrusted to our care, yet the real gift was the heart the Fred Anderson Subaru family has for children in need. Before the first box was even opened, we circled up shoulder to shoulder. One by one, the Subaru team shared why they were there. We listened to personal stories of why the Loves To Help program matters to them, turning their corporate initiative into a touching personal mission. We are deeply grateful for the friendship and support of the Fred Anderson Subaru family. Thank you for the coats, the heartfelt sharing, and for proving that neighbors in Western North Carolina still show up when it matters most. The jackets brought physical warmth for the season; however, your generosity and compassion warmed our hearts in a way that will not soon be forgotten. Fairview NC students take the world stage for creative problem solving competition - Meagan T

The Fairview (NC) Odyssey of the Mind Team is back after many years, and what a comeback it's been! Our group of seven creative, energetic students took on the 'Taller Tales of John Jivery' challenge, writing an original tall tale, building imaginative props, and even publishing a book now in the school library. Against all odds, our brand-new team placed second at both the regional and state tournaments—earning us a spot at the World Finals in Iowa. We'll be representing our school and our state, competing with teams from around the globe. It's a true underdog story, fueled by Fairview pride and the support of our close-knit community. This fundraiser is organized by the team parents, not the school, to help cover registration, travel, lodging, meals, and shipping our props. Please help us make this dream a reality—your support will send our team to the World Finals and show what Fairview spirit can do! https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-fairview-om-team-get-to-world-finals/cl/o?utm_campaign=fp_sharesheet&utm_content=amp17_tc-amp20_control&utm_medium=customer&utm_source=copy_link&lang=en_US&ts=1774987756

Rooting for the Underdog: Fred Anderson Subaru and Asheville Humane Society - Becca A

Fred Anderson Subaru’s support of Asheville Humane Society is one of our longest running partnerships – spanning decades of work toward a shared mission of creating better lives for pets in need. Through hosting adoption events at the dog park at their dealership, sponsoring programming and marketing support, they have impacted the lives of countless animals. A perfect example is the Test Drive program, sponsored by Fred Anderson Subaru, which allows dogs over 6 months old to go on a seven-day trial period with a potential adopter. It is a great opportunity to test compatibility between dog and adopter, family, and even other pets, before committing to adoption. Shy Hedwig had a chance to warm up, showing his true personality which was hidden behind fear in the shelter. Young, peppy Rosie showed that she could match her adopters energy on the trails. MJ proved she was great with her new family's young kids. Some dogs like Jenkins, now aptly named Lucky, found his perfect fit on his second Test Drive, blending right in with his family's existing pets. Even when the Test Drive isn't a match, we get more information about what kind of household the dog would love best. That is just one of the many ways Fred Anderson Subaru helps us connect pets in need with their forever home, paying extra attention to the "underdogs" - the dogs who would be otherwise overlooked due to age, medical complications, or a difficult history. When it comes to giving these animals a second chance, we can count on Fred Anderson Subaru to be in our corner, rooting for the underdog.

A ‘Doggone’ Great Partnership: Fred Anderson Subaru & The North Carolina Arboretum - Erin A

It’s said that companies will often donate “their time, their talents, or their treasure.” It’s rare that a business will share all three; but the team at Fred Anderson Subaru did just that with their support of The North Carolina Arboretum’s Wizard of Paws Halloween Dog Parade on October 26, 2025. Going beyond writing a check, the Subaru squad set up engaging activities to connect with approximately 2,500 attendees and 134 (a record number!) canine costume contest entrants and Subaru Community Outreach Specialist Kim Richardson served as Emcee, “paws-itively” entertaining the crowd. Thanks to their generosity, the third-annual Dog Parade was a success, bringing Arboretum members and visitors together, emphasizing our pet-friendly campus, and aligning with our mission to connect people, place and plants. Fred Anderson Subaru is the “ulti-mutt” Community Partner!

Prestige Subaru NC Teams Up to Support Local Community - Nate R

Imagine going without a coat, shoes, or even socks. For millions of children and adults experiencing homelessness and other urgent need situations across the country, even here in Asheville, this is a harsh reality. Helping others strengthens communities, which is why Prestige Subaru NC is partnering with Operation Warm®, a national nonprofit focused on connecting children with the resources they need to thrive. Through this partnership and other Subaru Loves to Help® efforts, Subaru and retailers like Prestige Subaru NC have helped nearly 900,000 children and adults in urgent need. On 01/10/2025, Prestige Subaru NC donated 204 coats to Black Mountain Home for Children. These essential items not only help keep children protected, warm, and dry, it can have a significant impact on a child's mental and emotional well-being.

Helping Haw Creek do the Hustle - Chris P

Thank you to Fred Anderson Subaru for their generous sponsorship of the Haw Creek Hustle. The 5k race, held on May 17, was a huge success with over 150 enthusiastic participants. Families, friends, and neighbors came together for a fun-filled morning that included live music and treats on a race course looping our scenic valley. Subieville’s contribution to the Haw Creek Community Association helped make this event a success! We are an all-volunteer organization dedicated to affecting positive change. Since our founding in 1984, we have been committed to protecting and promoting the interests of the Haw Creek valley. Our work enriches lives, protects natural beauty, and promotes safety for all our residents. Again, thank you for your support which enables us to achieve these community objectives.
